Girls on the Run

Project Type: Updated Integrated Campaign
Skills: Visual Identity, Print Layout, Illustration, Social Media Graphics
CreatAthon is an event where volunteers spend 24 hours creating communication materials for non-profits. Our team was assigned Girls on the Run, which challenged us to address the low registration of their middle school program, Heart & Sole, by creating a campaign that appealed to both parents and middle school students.

Within the 24-hour timeframe, we developed Girls Run On, a campaign centered on the transition into middle school through the resilience, strength, and ambition of each runner. Using the organization’s established brand identity, I designed posters, social posts, and merchandise.
Posters & Brochures
Through the print materials, we focused on targeting parents as the main audience while utilizing the playful branding to grab students' attention. As a result, the information is set in a clean layout along with the expressive pre-existing illustrations and images of young runners to establish a sense of relatability and welcome.
Social Media Templates
Following the concept of the campaign, the social media posts highlight a characteristic of each runner. By using the "Girls Run On" tagline, the designs play into the copy by emboldening each trait and following a structured, easy-to-follow info slide about the program.
Addition of Merchandise
After the event, I revisited the project for two weeks to improve the layouts of print materials and explore more ways to establish the impact of the organization. During this time, I chose to expand their existing illustrations and, instead of keeping the illustrations static, incorporated them into relatable stickers for runners to take on their journey.
